V&A Museum
The V&A (Victoria and Albert) Museum is one of the largest museums in the world. It has 145 galleries and a permanent collection of over 2.3 million objects spanning over 5,000 of human creativity. The collections are from ancient times to the present day, from cultures of Europe, North America, North Africa and Asia. There are many fascinating things for the whole family to see like ceramics, glass, textiles, costumes, jewellery, furniture, sculptures, books, drawings, medieval objects and many more! Children/Family activities
You and the kids can begin your journey by picking up free paper trails, backpacks and maps from the Sackler Centre. The sensory backpacks are filled with awesome activities like stories, jigsaws, puzzles, stories and games. Help your children with the Secret Seekers game where you go on a treasure hunt to find secrets of the museum along your journey. The Design a Wig game is also lots of fun- you can sit down and get creative by designing your own 18th-century wig! The V&A Museum holds a variety of performances, exhibitions and events throughout the year, including activities for families and children of all ages. Food/Drink
The Garden Cafe serves a range of sandwiches, salads as well as hot foods and drinks. Children can enjoy a meal deal during lunchtimes and you can treat yourselves to ice-cream throughout the summer. The new Courtyard Cafe offers delicious breakfast foods like pastries, granola bars, tarts, sandwiches and salads. Enjoy an Afternoon Tea in the Morris room served on Fridays from 1pm-7pm. The menu includes delicacies from the Victorian times like cucumber sandwiches, Indian ham sandwiches and fruit sconelets.
