Art and Mindfulness classes
Recommended Age: 3-7 years
Art and Mindfulness classes are designed to support the wellbeing and self-expression of parents and children. The classes combine mindfulness techniques with art to help nurture self-awareness, mindfulness and personal growth. The unique approach of Mindful Art helps children process their thoughts and emotions, while developing creativity and artistic skills through art activities.
In my classes you will be paying attention to the experience of drawing or painting through your senses. "Art is a natural way to practice mindfulness. The colours, textures and sounds of creating pull us into the moment. You don’t need any previous training to meditate through art, just a willingness to draw like a child, with freedom and a sense of curiosity.” — Amy Maricle, an artist, art therapist
Who Am I ?
I am an Artist and in 2013, I graduated with a Master's degree in Fine Art. I am currently studying Art Psychotherapy foundation at Goldsmith University. I provide daytime classes and after school classes for kids to develop their imagination and creativity as well as their ability to express their thoughts and feelings through art and mindfulness. Students will have experiences of empowerment, self acceptance and gratitude.
I am the founder of the Kidelp website and the reason I created these classes for kids & their parents is because of the aim to always to encourage teamwork with family members and to support their relationships.
What will you need?
A variety of materials and tools are provided for you to help your kids develop their ideas with you, have conversations and spend time together in a smooth and calm atmosphere as well as to "be present without judgment" to experience being in a flow state. You don't need any skills or previous meditation practice experience. This course is suitable for kids between 3 to 7 years old, and one parent should be present with their child during the 1 hour class.
