Burgess Park - kidelp

Burgess Park

Burgess Park is 56 hectares and is the largest park in the London Borough of Southwark. Built between the 1950s and 1980s, it is home to Chumleigh Gardens which reflects traditional English, Asian, Mediterranean, Oriental and Caribbean planting. There's a wide variety of facilities at the park such as a duck pond, a cycle track for bike riders, sports facilities and play areas for children.

Playgrounds

The park has an informal games area with grassy flat spaces where kids can play their own games such as Frisbee or football with the family. You can book the tennis courts in the park by calling 020 7703 4275. If you want to play football and use the football pitch, you can book on 020 7525 1050.

The Woodland Play area is great for children over 5 who want to go on an adventure! There are wooden geometrically shaped structures to climb on with bridges, balance ropes, net tunnels, slides, climbing walls and nets and many other exciting features. There's also another section for older children, with larger slides, climbing rope structures and a zip wire!

During the summer season, there are water play jets at Chumleigh Gardens that children can splash around with and get wet!

Food & Drink

There is a small area designated for families who want to have a barbeque so you can bring your own foods and snacks and enjoy the nature while cooking your own food. The Park Life cafe is located near Chumleigh Gardens in the centre of the park and offers a wide variety of hot and cold foods, drinks and snacks.
