Royal Air Force Museum (RAF)

The Royal Air Force Museum located in Hendon is dedicated to the history of British aviation and the fascinating story of the first 100 years of the RAF. Learn about the contribution of ordinary Servicemen and women who made invaluable contributions to today's world through serving in the RAF. The museum has a range of exhibitions and activities.

Children/Family activities

The children can see many different types of planes and jets as well as being able to test their flying skills and hear stories of brave people. There is a free outdoor playground that kids can explore in while interacting with the mini aircrafts and get imaginative. There's also the 'Grahame-White Watchtower' that has a slide, climbing net, ladders and a wall and other features that kids can have hours of fun with. The museum has plenty of other events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Food/Drink

There are 3 wonderful cafes in the museum where you can sit and unwind and enjoy a variety of delicious hot drinks, pastries, light snacks, a proper lunch and many more. The Sunderland Cafe is open from 10am-6pm daily, Claude's Cafe is open 10am-5pm and the Wessex Cafe is open from 11am-4pm on the weekends, bank holiday Mondays and during school holidays.

There are accessible toilets with baby changing facilities.
