Mudchute Park and Farm

The Mudchute is a community charity and the largest city farm in London, aiming to preserve the natural environment, promote animal welfare and provide education to young people. This farm is free of charge and offers a lovely countryside atmosphere as well as caring for the environment. There is a farm with a range of native and rare breed farm animals, stables, a riding school and lots of educational activities.

Children & Family activities

You can book a Farm Tour where a member of staff will give you a tour around the farm and talk about the livestock. Learn about the range of animals such as cows, pigs, llamas, donkeys and goats, get close with them and even help to feed them! Email farm@mudchute.org for bookings, prices and availability. You can also book animal encounter sessions at the Farm for special events or parties such as a children's party where kids can interact with small animals and stroke their fur or feathers.
The riding school at this Farm provides lessons to adults and children over age 7 from beginner's level to advanced level with 25 horses and ponies. Pony Days are a full-day programme for kids during school holidays that include 2 riding sessions and stable management lectures and costs £70 per child plus £1.50 for hat hire (boots are provided for free). Children learn things like grooming and feeding horses as well as other tasks.
