Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens is one of London's eight Royal Parks and covers an area of 265 acres. It is home to the Serpentine Galleries, the Kensington Palace, the Italian Gardens and the beautiful historic Albert Memorial. This park also has its own allotment with chickens inside.

Playgrounds

Find the bronze statue features Peter Pan and his bird-nest boat in the story, 'The Little White Bird' to the west of the Long Water. Bring the Peter Pan statue to life with your smartphone. Simply swipe your phone on the nearby plaque and get a personal call-back from Peter Pan! The Princess Diana memorial playground is an adventurous playground inspired by the stories of Peter Pan! Children can play on the pirate ship, the fun sculptures and the sensory trail. Wander through the Elfin Oak- an oak tree carved with goblins, elves, fairies and witches. Let the youngsters explore this amazing wonderland and be encouraged to use their imagination while the adults relax on the seats. Only adults who are supervising children up to age 12 will be allowed. Safety precautions: This playground is usually extremely busy so to ensure the safety of everyone, please supervise children at all times.

Food & Drink

The Italian Gardens Cafe is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a range of delicious foods such as poached egg with smashed avocado, fresh fruits and a variety of drinks. Rest and enjoy the view of the stunning 150 year-old ornamental Gardens. The Broad Walk Cafe is located next to the Diana Memorial Playground. It has both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the views of the water gardens. There are healthy, gluten free and vegetarian options available and a special menu catered for children. You can also enjoy premium British scoop ice-cream, perfect for hot weather in the summer! The cafe closes 30 minutes before the closing of the Park. During the summer, there is usually a number of ice-cream vans located at the Italian Gardens and in front of the Kensington Palace.
The Albert Memorial Kiosk sells sandwiches, drinks and ice-cream to enjoy with a view of the memorial.

There are public toilets around the park, some with disabled access.

Getting there

It is easy to get to Kensington Gardens by public transport. The postcode is W2 2UH to help you to get there using a map or GPS device, however the Gardens covers a large area so the postcode is provided only as a guide. There is parking available for drivers with a Disabled badge at Queen's Gate or along West Carriage Drive.
