Greenwich Park

Greenwich Park is one of London's eight Royal Parks and covers 183 acres. It is home to foxes, birds and Fallow and Red deer and is a wide green open space full of ancient trees and gardens perfect for nature lovers. Lie down at the top of the hill and enjoy the magnificent views of the River Thames and Central London including Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs. This park hosts the Royal Observatory and Planetarium as well as the Prime Meridian Line which is the reference point for the rest of the world.

Playground

Greenwich Park has a playground in the North East corner with many children of all ages playing with each other. Some features include a roundabout, sand and water play and a basket swing that enables social confidence and exploration. The area has planting and natural materials such as logs and rope incorporated to create a memorable experience for kids. Have a drink from the water fountain, relax in the seating areas with picnic tables and visit the kiosk for refreshments. This playground is suitable for children up to age 12. Check the opening and closing times of the playground here.

Food & Drink

There are two cafes in Greenwich park. One of them is The Pavilion Cafe which can be found at the top of the hill next to the Royal Observatory. The large garden with beautiful views is a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast such as fresh pastries, porridge, muffins and big fry-ups. The all-day menu has lovely hot and cold foods. There is also a range of delicious cakes to enjoy with tea/coffee or some ice-cream for those hot summer days! Kids are offered the smaller portions of dishes or a lunch box selection with a fun activity sheet to keep them occupied. Child-friendly cutlery, high chairs and a baby changing room are also provided at the cafe. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a short leash and on the paved area.
The White House Cafe is the second cafe in Greenwich Park, located at St Mary's Gate Lodge next to Greenwich Village.
