Clissold Park
Clissold Park is a 55-acre green open space that opened in 1889 and is situated in Stoke Newington, in the London Borough of Hackney. There are sport facilities including a sports field, tennis courts, a bowling green and a skate park bowl. Joggers and cyclists can use the athletics track that goes around the whole park. Other facilities include children's playgrounds, an aviary and a mini zoo.
Playgrounds
This exciting adventure playground is perfect for children of all ages to explore and run around in. It offers a giant sandpit with a wooden shipwreck to climb on, a variety of climbing structures like climbing ropes and a zip wire. There are also a couple of swings and slides and benches around it t relax on.
Children love animals so they can visit the aviary with its variety of animals such as captive deer and goats as well as a couple of small lakes that are home to wild ducks, geese, swans and other water birds. There is also a mini zoo that has rabbits, chickens, goats and fallow deer.
The One O'clock Club is open to children up to 5 who are accompanied by an adult. There are lots of free activities provided to kids including playing, getting messy with arts and crafts, music & singing and occasional classes and groups. For more information, call 020 8809 6700.
Food and Drink
Clissold House cafe serves a range of delicious hot and cold foods such as a traditional English breakfast, salads, sandwiches and hot or cold drinks. There is also a small selection of foods in the menu that is catered to young children.
