The Postal Museum

The Postal Museum in Central London brings five centuries of British communications history to life like the many different postal services and systems. There are exhibition galleries and a wide range of learning activities that's useful for people of all ages. The Museum's main aim is to show the true fascination of Britain's postal history in a fun and interactive way.

Children/Family activities

There are plenty of free workshops and activities for families. Kids will have great fun at this museum as it has interactive screens for example a screen where you can design your own stamp with your own face on it! You see the many different vehicles used to post things and kids can enjoy trying on the postal uniforms. One of the most fun things is riding the underground postal train through some of the original tunnels that take you back in time. 'Sorted!' is an indoor play area for children up to age 8 where they can explore an immersive mini-town with buildings, slides, trolleys etc. that will keep them busy!

Food/Drink

Sit down and relax with a hot cup of expertly made barista coffee at The Counter Cafe. They offer a variety of foods like sandwiches, light snacks, lunches and treats like cake. The cafe also has free Wi-Fi and highchairs and is open daily from 10am until 5pm.

Toilets

On the ground floor, there are gender-neutral toilets as well as accessible toilets and baby changing facilities.

The address of the Postal Museum is: 15-20 Phoenix Place, London, WC1X 0DA. To contact the museum, call 0300 030 0700. There is limited parking spaces on Phoenix Place. In areas of residency, there is free parking during weekdays (after 6.30pm), Saturdays is free after 1.30pm and on Sundays it's free the whole day. The nearest car park to the museum is the NCP by Farringdon Road.
