London Transport Museum

The London Transport Museum is located in the heart of Covent Garden. It's an interactive museum showing the significance of the history of London's public transport from the 19th century to the present day. There's lots for the whole family to see like more than 80 historic vehicles such as the red London buses, the world's first tube, world-famous posters, original maps, signs and more!

Children/Family activities

This Museum has plenty for kids and families to enjoy like the interactive All Aboard play zone, great for ages 0-7. Here, they can step aboard vehicles, drive a real bus, repair a train with toy spanners and even dress up in uniforms. There is also the exciting Baby DLR which is the Museum's first dedicated area for babies. Follow the Stamper Trail where you go on a journey around the museum and collect 13 stamps! You can also try these online activities at home with your kids like creating your own logo, doing some fun sketches or printing and making some 3D models of buses or trains as well as a variety of puzzles, quizzes etc. Click here for information about future events, talks, exhibitions etc.

Food/Drink

Sit with your children in the new cafe bar offering an all-day menu from Benugo with foods like a traditional English breakfast as well as light salads, sandwiches and a separate kid's menu that has train-shaped pasta! The Lower Deck ice cream cafe has a wide selection of tasty treats like frozen yoghurts and milkshakes that kids will love. You can relax, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or have some snacks and kids can get a lunchbox where they choose any four items and get cucumber & carrot stick for free! The Museum has an indoor picnic area where you can bring your own packed lunches and have a picnic with the family.

The address of the museum is Covent Garden, London WC2E 7BB. There are some parking spaces near the Museum which are charged at £4.90 per hour however, these are limited so we recommend to get there by public transport.
