Easy to make and yummy Tofu recipe!

I love this recipe as it's so simple and straightforward to make and it makes a wonderful snack for kids! Even better, tofu is a good source of protein and has all 9 essential amino acids which makes it easier to make healthy foods for kids so they won't be fussy! You can get very creative with this simple recipe!

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

400g block firm tofu
3 tbsp cornflour
½ tsp garlic granules
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp fine sea salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. First drain the tofu, wrap in kitchen towels and leave for around 15 mins to soak up the extra moisture from the tofu.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornflower, paprika, garlic, salt and pepper. Take the kitchen towels off the tofu and then cut the tofu into small cubes, or long strips if you prefer.
  3. Coat all the tofu pieces in the spiced cornflower until they are all coated nicely.
  4. Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan over a medium to high heat. Fry the tofu pieces for 2-3 minutes until all the sides are a golden brown colour and crispy. If the pan gets dry you can add more oil.
  5. Once all the tofu pieces are nicely cooked, drain them on some kitchen towels and add a pinch of salt before serving on plates.
Note: This recipe is perfect for a little snack, or you can put it on the side of a healthy salad and eat together. Alternatively, you can make a mixed salad and then mix in the tofu pieces, so it's like an alternative to croutons or watch the video below for a different way to enjoy tofu!
