V&A Museum of Childhood

The V&A (Victoria & Albert) Museum of Childhood was founded in 1872 and is situated in Bethnal Green. It houses one of the worlds finest collections of childhood objects from the 1600s until the present day such as doll houses, costumes, puppets and games. This Museum shows an insight into the lives of children in the past, how they may have lived and felt through the objects the had and interacted with, as well as emphasizing the contrast from back then until now. Additionally, there are temporary exhibitions, events, workshops and programmes for schools. The Museum is free entry but there may be charges for certain events.

Children/Family activities

There's plenty of very fascinating events, activities and objects on display for children to enjoy and have a memorable experience with. Rachel Whiteread's artwork Place (Village)' features around 150 vintage Dolls' houses that were collected by her over 20 years so this would be interesting for children to see what they looked like before. There are also daily activities for the whole family on certain days where there's storytelling and a variety of art and craft activities your kids can have fun and get creative with! The art they create can be a proud moment and a sense of achievement.

Food/Drink

The Benugo Cafe is the perfect place to sit and unwind. Enjoy the wide variety of freshly prepared foods, light sandwiches or wraps or delicious treats like cakes, muffins and pastries with a hot or cold drink. All the food on the menu is available in half-portions which is great for kids. There's also a special kid's healthy lunchbox that includes a sandwich, drink, yoghurt and pack of raisins.

Toilets

Accessible toilets available as well as male and female toilets with baby changing facilities.
